VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnam has won two gold medals at the 2013 Asian Physics Olympiad (AphO) in Indonesia, announced the Ministry of Education and Training.

The gold medalists are Bui Quang Tu from Hanoi Amsterdam Gifted High School and Ngo Phi Long from Son La Gifted High School, both in the 12th grade.

In 2012 Long bagged home a gold medal at the International Physics Olympiad when he was an 11th grader.

This year all eight members of the AphO Vietnamese team were awarded, including two golds, two silvers, one bronze and three certificates of merit.

The two silver medals went to Tran Minh Vu from Hanoi Amsterdam Gifted High School and Vu Tran Dinh Duy from HCM City-based Le Hong Phong Gifted High School.

The only bronze medal was given to My Duy Hoang Long from Lam Son Gifted High School in Thanh Hoa Province.

The three students receiving certificates of merits were Dang Tuan Linh from Nam Dinh-based Le Hong Phong Gifted High School, Cao Ngoc Thai from Phan Boi Chau Gifted High School in Nghe An Province, and Nguyen Ho Nam from Gifted High School under the HCM City-based National University.

Vietnamese students are scheduled to fly back to Hanoi on May 13.
