The hospitals are among 250 key projects inaugurated to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2.
Both hospitals, located close to each other in Kieu Phu commune in Hanoi, have a capacity of 300 inpatient beds each and can handle 1,000-1,500 patient visits per day.
The second campus of the National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology was built with an investment of VND950 billion on a nearly 60,000 sq m site, with a construction area of over 8,400 sq m.
The facility includes six above-ground floors, one technical floor and one penthouse floor, designed to optimize functionality, promote environmental friendliness, and ensure patient convenience.
The campus includes 11 clinical departments, four paraclinical departments, and various support units such as coordination rooms, customer care, pharmacy, medical storage, and technical logistics.
The second campus of the National Children’s Hospital, funded with over VND880 billion, covers an area of 6ha, with a construction area of about 7,530 sq m.
The facility includes one administrative block, one paraclinical block, two five-story inpatient treatment blocks, one basement, and accompanying technical infrastructure.
The campus is organized into 11 clinical departments, four paraclinical departments, and one functional unit, ensuring comprehensive emergency care, treatment, and rehabilitation services for children.
The medical equipment at the second campus of the National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology is comprehensively equipped. The hospital’s management system leverages digital technology and AI, aiming for a smart, green, and digitized hospital model.
Medical staff have been reassigned, with highly skilled and experienced personnel have tasked with working at the new campus.
Hospital leadership have stated that clinical, paraclinical, administrative, and logistical departments are coordinating to ensure efficient, safe, and flexible operations in phases.
Ahead of the second campus’s inauguration, 2.5 years after construction began in February 2023, the National Children’s Hospital leadership have reported that preparations for infrastructure, equipment, and staffing are complete.
Modern medical equipment across departments and rooms is ready for operation. Advanced pediatric equipment, including testing systems, diagnostic imaging, emergency resuscitation systems like ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation), and operating room systems, have been tested to meet safety and technical standards.
The second campus will be directly managed by a deputy director of the hospital.
Leading experts and doctors from the first campus will rotate to work at the second campus, ensuring that all pediatric patients at the second campus receive medical services and expertise equivalent to the first campus. This ensures seamless, synchronized, and efficient professional, administrative, and technical management.
