VietNamNet Bridge – A 101-year-old woman and her younger sister aged 93 have been recognized as the oldest living sisters in Vietnam by the Vietnam Record Organization.

The sisters are Mrs. Dinh Thi Xa (born 1913) and Mrs. Dinh Thi Long (born in 1921), natives of the northern city of Hai Duong. Both of them live in Quarter 5 of Trang Dai Ward, Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province.

They were born into a family of seven sisters and brothers. Apart from two who have died, other brothers and sisters of the two eldest sisters are over 90 years old.

They have an elder sister who was born in 1911 (103 years old) but she lives in the United States.

Earlier, the Vietnam Record Organisation recognized Mrs. Nguyen Thi Tru, 121 years old, in HCM City as the oldest woman in Vietnam and Mr. Y'N Dong, 116 years old, in Bon Jang, Truong Xuan Commune, Dak Song District, Dak Nong province as the oldest man in Vietnam.

Mr. Cao Vien (born in 1908) and his wife Mrs. Vu Thi Hai (born 1914) in Dien Chau district, Nghe An province, are recognized as the oldest married couple in Vietnam.
