One route would start from Cao Xa Station in Cam Giang District, going through the stations of Yen Vien in Hanoi, Kep in Bac Giang and Dong Dang in Lang Son and end at Quangxi’s PingXiang Station. Meanwhile, the other would connect Cao Xa Station with Lao Cai Station and Yunnan.

The travelling time to Ping Xiang and Yunnan would be around a day and a day and a half respectively.

According to VNR, Hai Duong is home to nearly 20 industrial parks and over 50 industrial clusters. The demand for material imports from China among local enterprises is quite high. The export demand of foreign-invested firms in the province to foreign markets, including China, is also high. However, goods from Hai Duong have not yet been imported or exported through the railway.

Freight transportation through international railway routes would help save around two thirds of time for companies in Hai Duong compared to being transported from sea ports.

VNR has asked the provincial people’s committee to build a 10,000-square metre container storage facility to serve the operation of the two aforementioned railway routes.
