One of The Day We Fell in Love’s actors, Nhan Phuc Vinh, and director of production Duong Tuan Anh also won awards for best male actor and best DOP.

The festival attracted 497 entries, taking place in Da Lat from December 19 to 22.

The Day We Fell in Love by director Nguyen Khai Anh is a remake of the Korean soap opera Discovery of Love, a romantic comedy drama that attracted huge attention from Korean audiences and won high praise.

Gạo Nếp Gạo Tẻ, also a remake of the South Korean TV series Wang’s Family, tells the story of a typical South Korean family and won the most views in 2013.

Its actress Le Phuong also won an award in the best actress category.

Director Do Thanh Hai, who is also a juror of the festival, said Wang’s Family features a story that resonates with many Vietnamese viewers. The script showed a strong connection between family members and many of its stories are close to the Vietnamese audience.

“Other jurors and I highly value the equally high-quality performance of the actors and actresses in the movie as well as the cinematic quality of the movie, which really makes it stand out from other works,” said Hai.

Out of 497 entries, there are 30 golden and 56 silver awards given to nine categories including documentaries, reportage, science-education show, television programmes in ethnic languages, talkshow and music show.
