VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnamese police on January 22 arrested two men in HCM City for founding and operating a US-based child porn website, based on information from the FBI.

The two arrestees are Nguyen Tran Bao Anh, 20, a native from Ben Tre province, and Nguyen Le Viet, 27, a college student in HCM City.

Bao Anh and Viet were arrested after the FBI informed the Vietnamese police of the Vietnamese suspects who ran a website on male child-porn and used tricks to force about 200 American and British boys to send their porno clips and pictures to them, which were then posted on this site.

According to investigators, Bao Anh was the founder of vkid… a male child porn website with thousands of members, with the server based in the US.

To become members of this website, viewers have to pay membership fees and the fees to watch porn clips and photos. They gain bonuses if they post porno pictures and clips on the website. Members pay the fees by purchasing phone cards or banking transfer.

At the time the website was closed, it had 1,328 clips and 693 albums of male child porn.

Bao Anh confessed that he launched the site in November 2012. Using the nickname nhox.loc97, he published 1,092 entries.

Checking Bao Anh’s computer, the police found many porn pictures of him and some Vietnamese boys at the age of 8-9.

According to the FBI, by last July, the agency had received 698 complaints about a suspect from Vietnam who cheated and threatened boys to shoot porn clips of themselves to send to him, which were then posted on Bao Anh’s website.

After Bao Anh was arrested, Viet gave himself up to the police.

Viet declared that he joined Bao Anh’s website in October 2013, using the nickname lixthom. He not only watched but also uploaded male child porn materials on the website.

To have porn video clips post on this site, Viet "played" himself as a 10-12 year-old girl to chat with boys of 9-12 years old in the UK and the US.

He then asked the boys to shoot porn clips and send them to him. To have more porn videos, Viet threatened the boys that he would disclose their behavior to their parents or to the police if they did not agree. Using this trick, Viet controlled and forced the boys to continue filming sex clips.

The case is under further investigation.
