VietNamNet Bridge – Famous Serbian coach on Sunday 25 presented wreaths to two young Vietnamese football players who are going to Qatar to compete for the scholarship of the Aspire Football Institute.

Serbian coach Bora Milutionovic and coach Falko Goetz of the Vietnamese
national squad presented garlands to the two players.

The finale round of the Football Dream program finished at the Thanh Long Sports Center in HCM City in August. However, the organizing board announced the names of the winners on September 25, who will go to Qatar to compete for the 3-year scholarship with young players from many developing countries. This year Vietnam has only two candidates, compared to three of previous years.

The two winners are Nguyen Minh Hung from Binh Duong and Nguyen Phong Hong Duy from Binh Phuoc province. Serbian coach Bora Milutionovic, who helped five national football squads to the World Cup finale (Mexico -1986, Costa Rica -1990, USA -1994, Nigeria -1998, China -2002) presented garlands to the two players. He is now an advisor of the Aspire Institute. This is his third time in Vietnam. The last time he watched the game between Vietnam and Qatar in Hanoi in the second-leg game of the World Cup 2014 qualifier round. He comes to Vietnam this time to follow the Aspire Institute’s team at the upcoming International U21 tournament in Gia Lai province. Earlier, the team ranked second at the HCM City Football Cup. The Aspire Institute proves to be a good training centre. Vietnam’s Nguyen Thai Sung is studying there.

Different from young football training programs in Vietnam, Football Dreams is a non-profit program. Selected players are trained free of charge for three years at the Aspire Institute. They are paid monthly wage and their families receive around $7,000 a year.
