VietNamNet Bridge – Hundreds of policemen hunted a young man who involved in a robbery and murder at a gold shop in the northern province of Hung Yen on May 1.

At around 10pm of May 1, two young men entered Kiem Huyen gold shop in Khoai Chau district of Hung Yen province to purchase a silver necklace. The shop’s owner, Mr. Do Xuan Kiem, gave a necklace to one of them to try on. However, the two made a sign and ran away from the shop together.

Mr. Kiem shouted for help. Kiem’s nephew, Do Xuan Luong, 38, and two other men – Do Ba Hien, 27 and Do Nhu Minh, 25, ran after the robbers.

They caught up with the necklace robbers at a field that is around 1km from the gold shop. While the two sides were pulling each other, one robber stabbed to the chest of Luong. Two other men, Minh and Hien approached to help Luong and they were also stabbed. Three men were brought to Viet Duc Hospital in Hanoi. One of them – Luong – died.



Ha Van Tinh, 16.

With the assistance of some local people, one of the robbers was arrested and handed over to police. The arrested man was identified as Ha Van Tinh, 16. Tinh declared that the escaped robber is Nguyen Viet Toan, 19.

Hung Yen police sent hundreds of mobile police and trained dogs to hunt the remaining robber.

On May 2, Toan gave himself up. According to police, Toan was the one who stabbed three victims.

Toan declared that after escaping from local people’s hunting, he caught a taxi to Hanoi. He stayed at an inn on Thuy Khue Street. Hearing that one victim was dead, Toan was frighten and called his uncle. The uncle called Toan to give up himself to police.
