Wutip also wounded 26 people and swept away the roofs of more than 5,400 houses in central Vietnam.

Mr. Mai Xuan Tho, Dong Hoi City Chief Policeman said that at around 4.30pm yesterday, September 30, the time the storm made landfall in Quang Binh at the level 11-12, the antenna mast of more than 100m high of the Radio Voice of Vietnam was struck down. Two employees of the station died on the spot and another person was seriously injured.

The storm also broke a telecom antenna pole in Le Thuy District of Quang Binh Province. In the same evening, the storm was over but Dong Hoi city and the neighboring districts were out of power.

According to preliminary reports from the central region, storm Wutip killed two, injured 26 and damaged more than 5,400 houses, lots of trees and electric poles.

After entering the central Vietnam, storm Wutip crossed the Vietnam - Laos border and weakened into a tropical depression, then moved westward and weakened again into a low pressure area, with the strongest winds near the center dropping below 39 kilometers per hour (level 6).
