As of 5:30pm on September 7, numerous maritime accidents have been reported, resulting in 13 missing crew members.
According to the National Committee for Disaster Response and Search and Rescue (Ministry of Defense), the typhoon has caused several incidents at sea.
In Quang Ninh, the crane ship Tien Thanh 05, operated by Quang Ninh Logistic Trading Joint Stock Company, went missing along with seven crew members while seeking shelter in Vung Duc - Cam Pha.
Additionally, the ships Tien Thanh 02 and Tien Thanh 03, also belonging to the same company, have drifted and become stranded at Dolphin Palace in Ha Long City. Each vessel had approximately ten people on board.
The tugboat Hong Gai, operated by Quang Ninh Port Joint Stock Company, went missing with seven crew members while sheltering in Bo Nau cave area.
Following these incidents, the rescue vessel Ha Long 08 has recovered one body, while six crew members from the Hong Gai tugboat are still missing.
In Hai Phong, an unnamed fishing boat with one person on board has experienced engine failure and is drifting near Van Boi - Cat Ba.
Efforts to contact the vessel have been unsuccessful. Nearby, the rescue ship CSB9004, located six nautical miles away, is prepared to assist but has yet to reach the stranded boat due to severe weather conditions.
Power outages have been reported across Hai Phong, and Quang Ninh has experienced extensive damage, including collapsed roofs and damaged signage.
At Co To harbor, five cement-hulled ships and one wooden ship have sunk, while several other vessels have drifted from their moorings.
The National Committee for Disaster Response and Search and Rescue has mobilized 383,672 personnel, including 74,030 military personnel and 284,054 local militia members, as well as 5,318 vehicles, including 313 specialized vehicles, 3,412 cars, 1,589 boats and rafts, and four aircraft to assist in response and recovery efforts.
