The Cambodian team has joined 22 other Vietnamese clubs at the qualifying round of the National U19 Football Championships from January 15 to March 23.

Cambodia’s participation is expected to deliver spectators even more competitive and entertaining matches.

The 23 teams have been divided into the four A, B, C, and D groups playing in a round robin format.

Nghe An, Hue, Gia Lai, and Ho Chi Minh City are selected to host qualifying round matches.

The first-leg matches are taking place from January 15 to 25, and the second-leg matches will be between February 24 and March 6.

Four group winners and four first runners-up will advance to the final round scheduled for March 14-23.

The winning team will receive a cash prize of VND50 million, the runner-up VND30 million, and the two third placed teams VND20 million each.

There will be other prizes for the team with the best sportsmanship, best player, top scorer, and best goalkeeper.

The qualifying round’s four groups are as follows:

Group A: Song Lam Nghe An, Hanoi Club, Quang Ninh Coal, T&T VSH, Vicem Haiphong, Viettel.

Group B: Hue, Hanoi T&T, Nam Dinh, Quang Nam, Danang, Thanh Hoa.

Group C: Hoang Anh Gia Lai, Binh Dinh, Cambodia, Dong Nai, Khanh Hoa.

Group D: Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Tam Long An, TDC Binh Duong, Dong Thap, Can Tho.
