VietNamNet Bridge – The Vietnamese football team was narrowly defeated 1-2 by Iran in its first match of the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) U-19 Youth Championship in Ho Chi Minh City on September 2.

Right after the whistle blow, Iran’s Azmoun dribbled the ball towards the Vietnamese side and hampered the ball from 18m to open the scoring in the 42nd second.
It is the quickest goal in the tournament’s history and also the fastest one ever seen in the city’s Thong Nhat stadium.
The early lost shocked Vietnamese players as they were totally outplayed until the 30th minute when Dinh Thang shot the ball from outside the box over the cross bar.
Iran then counter attacked with Barzay successfully tapping the ball from his teamate pass the Vietnamese goalie.
In the first minute of the injury time, Thang quickly left the Iranian defenders behind and lobbed the ball over Iranian goalkeeper Sedghi to make it 1-2.
Both teams had more chances in the second half but failed to extend the scoring.
The Vietnamese team will face Australia while Iran will play Uzbekistan on September 4.
