VietNamNet Bridge - In memory of General Vo Nguyen Giap who passed away on October 4, the U19 football team of Vietnam will wear the black armband during the qualifier match of U19 Asian Championships this afternoon, October 7.
Immediately after the news of the death of General Vo Nguyen Giap was released, the team leaders planned to wear black armbands during the match against Australia to commemorate the legendary General, said the team’s head – Mr. Duong Nghiep Khoi.
The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has also asked the Asian Football Confederation’s (AFC) permission to have one minute of silence during the match this afternoon to commemorate the beloved General of the nation.
After defeating Hong Kong, U19 Vietnam has had a few changes. Midfielder Duc Huy, due to a mild wound on his foot, will be unable to play the last game. Meanwhile, Tuan Anh and Van Son have gradually recovered from their sickness and will return to the game along with midfielder Xuan Truong.
This morning, the team had a practice to prepare for the game this afternoon in Kuala Lumpur.
