U21 Viet Nam tie with U19 South Korea
U21 Viet Nam tied goalless with U19 South Korea on November 17 in a friendly match.
The game was held in preparation for the International U21 Football Championship that will be held from November 20 to 29 at Thong Nhat Stadium in HCM City.
Coach Pham Minh Duc of Viet Nam said he believed in his players' skills. Viet Nam played well in the friendly matches.
Meanwhile, Coach An Iksoo of South Korea said, "Our goal is to avoid injuries for players in this tournament, which is a warm-up for the coming Asian U19 football tournament and the U20 World Cup in South Korea."
Earlier, Viet Nam drew 1-1 with V. League 1 side Quang Ninh Coal.
Viet Nam will play a local PVF U21 squad on November 19 in the last friendly match, before participating in the international event, which has a total prize money of about VND1 billion (US$45,500).
The winner will walk away with $12,000, while the first and second runners-up will receive $7,000 and $5,000, respectively.
The event's organising board will also present awards to the best footballer, best scorer and best goalkeeper.
Duan wins second stage, Tai claims jersey
Veteran Le Van Duan of VUS-HCM City won the second stage of the Nam Ky Khoi Nghia cycling tournament yesterday (Nov 18), while Nguyen Truong Tai emerged as the yellow jersey winner.

Duan bested Nguyen Vu Linh of Domesco Pharmacy Dong Thap 1 to take the lead at the 117km stage from Dong Xoai to Gia Nghia Town of Dak Nong Province.
Duan's teammate, Tai finished third. However, he held onto the yellow jersey (best overall time) with a total time of 5:53.22, followed by Le Nguyet Minh and Tran Nguyen Minh Tri of Dong Thap 1.
The Domesco Pharmacy Dong Thap 2 team topped in the team's ranking with a combined time of 17:40.48. Mathnasium HCM City and ADC-Vinh Long Television were the runners-up.
Today, cyclists will compete in the 124km-third stage from Gia Nghia Town to Buon Ma Thuot City.

LienvietPostBank defeated Tien Nong Thanh Hoa in their third match at the second round of the National Volleyball Championships in HCM City yesterday, Nov 18.
The team won 25-14, 25-20, 25-17.
It is LienvietPostBank's third win in a row in the event.
Earlier, they easily beat Bai Bang Paper Mill and HCM City.
Thanh Hoa will next meet Bai Bang Paper Mill today, while LienvietPostBank will meet Vinh Phuc tomorrow.
