The team will train at the PVF Centre in Hanoi and play three friendly matches to hone their skills.

As planned, they will meet Barcelona B, U23 Oman and U23 Uzbekistan in early August at My Dinh National Stadium.

Thirty-two men’s football teams have registered to compete in the upcoming Asian event.

According to Chairman of the Indonesia Asian Games Organizing Committee, Erick Thohir, the 2018 event has attracted the largest number of football teams in the history of the Asian Games.

The teams will be divided into eight groups, with the two best teams from each progressing to the knockout round.

At the ASIAD 17, held in Incheon, South Korea beat North Korea to win the gold medal in the final.

Meanwhile, although Viet Nam successfully defeated their strong rival Iran 4-1 in the qualifying round, they lost 1-3 to UAE in the quarter-finals.
