VietNamNet Bridge - Two famous architectural design corporations of the UK - Atkins and Arup - have begun participating in the construction of the tallest building in Vietnam, located in HCM City.

Dezeen architecture magazine said Vietnam's tallest building is located on the bank of the Saigon River, on 241.000m2 area, with 81 stories, and is called Vincom Landmark 81.
With a height of 460 m, Landmark 81 will be higher than the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
It is expected that the building will be completed in 2017.
Atkins Group will be in charge of designing a hotel, residential apartments with space for retail shops and a shopping mall on the ground floor of the building.
Arup - known for designing the Sydney Opera House - will be in charge of the building's structure.
It is expected that the UK corporations are trying to finish this work in 2017.
The New Civil Engineer website quoted British Prime Minister David Cameron as saying that with this project, Atkins and Arup are paving the way for British businesses in Vietnam.
Cameron recently paid a two-day visit to Vietnam, where he attended activities to promote British investment in the country.
The Director of the Asia Pacific region of Atkins, Bertil de Kleynen, said the company's challenge is to create a unique and dynamic tower. The project marks significant progress of Atkins in Vietnam.
