On November 6 - 8, a delegation of the UNESCO Global Geopark Council led by Mr. Guy Martini, Senior Advisor, Chairman of the UNESCO Global Geopark Council, made a field trip to the UNESCO Non Nuoc Cao Bang Global Geopark to prepare for the organization of the 8th International Conference of the UNESCO Asia Pacific Global Geopark Network (APGN) 2024.

During the trip, the delegation surveyed and evaluated the construction and development of Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark; selected and supplemented heritage points on the experience route No. 5 of the Geopark.

Experts also updated the progress of construction and development activities of the Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark according to expert recommendations; surveyed geological heritage sites, cultural heritage sites, natural heritage sites, accommodation facilities, services, and tourism infrastructure expected to be included in the experience route that connects the Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark and Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark (Ha Giang); made detailed assessment and selection of points to build an experiential tourism route.

The experts surveyed three routes in the geopark, including: The western route - "Exploring Phja Oac - the mountain of changes" - surveying heritage sites in Nguyen Binh district; Ban O Tungsten, Phja Oac Granite, Lung Muoi Tungsten Mine , Phja Oac Landscape, Hoai Khao Community-based Tourism Village, Dragon Back Landscape; Tran Hung Dao forest, Chicken comb mountain landscape, and Lang Mon site;

The northern route - "Journey to the roots" and some points on the experiential tour connecting Non Nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO Global Geopark and Dong Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark (Ha Giang), including the following sites: King Le Temple, Nguom Slua Cave, Hoang Tung Stone Garden, Nguom Boc Cave, De Doong Temple, Luong Noi Brocade Weaving Village, Keo Yen Landscape, Lung Luong Chrysanthemum Fossil, Nung Tri Cao Temple, Soc Giang Hanging Valley and Pac Bo Special National Relic Area; Some scenic spots and historical relics in Can Nong commune, Can Yen (Ha Quang district) to choose heritage sites to add to the experience route No. 5 connecting the Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark and Dong Van Karst Plateau (Ha Giang);

The eastern route - "Experience indigenous culture in a wonderland" with heritage sites in Quang Hoa district, including: Ma Phuc Pass, Mountain God's Eye, Phja Thap Incense Making Village, Dia Tren Ban Paper Village, Pac Rang Forging Village, Magic Water Mine; Surveying heritage sites in Trung Khanh district such as Chestnut garden,s Thoong Got landscape, Lan's homestay, Con Nuoc, Khuoi Ky Stone Village, Nguom Ngao Cave, and Ban Gioc Waterfall.
