HCMC-based firm Unicorp has launched a contest from now until October 30 to search for the best national costumes of Vietnam at this year’s Miss Universe beauty pageant.

The contest is open to all fashion lovers in the country who aspire to introduce their designs as the best to promote the beauty of Vietnam’s culture to the world.

Design entries must be created based on typical Vietnamese materials and patterns, and reflect the unique and traditional spirit of the country. Those creations showing the best visual effects on the catwalk are encouraged.

The winner will have his/her creation shown on the night of national costume at the Miss Universe 2016 contest and get a cash prize of VND15 million and two vouchers for a three-day-two-night stay at Dalat Palace.

The first runner-up will pocket a cash prize of VND10 million and a voucher for a three-day-two-night stay at Dalat Palace.

Deadline for registrations is August 20.

Each contestant can send in a maximum of two designs together with details about name, age, gender, ID/passport number, address, email, Facebook, phone number and portrait photo to Unicorp at 600 Dien Bien Phu Street, Binh Thanh District, HCMC.
