VietNamNet Bridge – A garden of stone Buddhist prayers is being built on an area of 4,000m2 garden of the Phuoc Hau Pagoda in Vinh Long Province, southern Vietnam.

The work was initiated by Venerable monk Thich Phuoc Can of Phuoc Hau Pagoda.

The garden will have 500 pages of Buddhist prayers, carved on 250 rocks.

The work will cost nearly VND2 billion (nearly $100,000) and expected to be completed in June 2015.

The first rocks will be on display this March.

Each “page” of the stone prayer will be 8-9cm thick, 1m wide, 1.3m long, 300kg in weight. They will be arranged in the shape of eight bodhi leaves.

This work is expected to attract Buddhists and tourists when it is completed.
