VietNamNet Bridge – The names of ten artists who will join the second “Universal Dance”, the Vietnamese version of “Dancing with the Stars” competition, has been announced on March 31.

Singer Hua Vi Van
The list includes: singers Hua Vi Van, Nguyen Vu, Thu Minh, Thuy Tien, Pham Anh Khoa, model and actress Vu Thu Phuong, actor Huy Khanh, Dai Nghia, actresses Thanh Thuy and Kim Hien.

Hua Vi Van and Nguyen Vu were the last names defined for the show, after supermodel Vinh Thuy announced his withdrawal on March 28. The model’s decision was made following recent media reports claiming that he was indicted for smuggling electronic devices from Australia into Vietnam.

According to police, the model is suspected of consuming smuggled electronic goods from 36-year-old Do Thanh Lam, a Vietnamese who resides in Australia. The total value of the goods is allegedly worth around VND6.3 billion and more than US$34,000. Lam was also indicted and detained for further investigation.

Singer Nguyen Vu
Both Hua Vi Van and Nguyen Vu said they were surprised and glad to be invited to participate in Universal Dance.

The second competition will have 10 shows, two more over 2010, which will be broadcasted live on national VTV3 channel from April 17 through July 3.

The jury will not change, with sports dance king Khanh Thi, his former dance partner Chi Anh, and movie directors Le Hoang and Nguyen Quang Dung.

The show hosts will be still Thanh Bach and a female singer.

Last year actress Thanh Van won the competition.
