The new hall is part of the Ministry of Health’s education innovation programme in health care sector. It is equipped with modern technologies such as large screens and tablets, all of which are connected to the internet.

All lessons will be taught based on specialised software as well as videos and 3D images.

The model includes team-based learning, with the students being the central subjects during lessons. The limited role of students in traditional classes is eliminated, which helps them better remember lessons and improves access to information.

The model will be applied in the 2016-17 school year.

Trần Diệp Tuấn, director of the university, said the smart school model and modern equipment together with team-based learning methods were a new experience for both teachers and students.

The model has been used around the world, he said, adding that the model would provide an impetus for further innovation at the university.

The smart school model is expected to be applied at other universities in the country.

The model, sponsored by Samsung Vina Electronics Company, is carried out under the consultancy of experts of Health Advancement in Viet Nam.

The HCM City University of Medicine and Pharmacy is one of the leading universities in the health care sector of Viet Nam. After 70 years of operation, it has seven faculties and one hospital.
