The Ministry of Education and Training has decided to set up a board of university rectors next academic year to boost the quality of higher education.

Under the decree, the boards will be run on a voluntary basis by directors or rectors of universities, colleges and other institutes of higher education.

Board members will be expected to consult and contribute opinions on legal matters affecting university education.
