On the theme of “Cultural Heritage with Integration and Development; Hue – one destination, five World Heritages”, the 10th Hue Festival 2018 will be held from April 27 to May 2 in Thua Thien-Hue Province. It will feature a number of cultural activities and performances by more than 20 international art troupes from various countries.

A highlight of the event is Trinh Cong Son music night, with the participation of well-known Vietnamese singers such as Hong Nhung, Le Quyen, Duc Tuan, Ngoc Mai, Lan Nha, and Tan Son.

Notably, 30 Volkswagen cars will be paraded across the city to promote Hue tourism.

Do Temple Festival will take place from April 29 to May 1 (14-16 lunar March). The event aims to commemorate and honour the great contributions of Kings of Ly Dynasty to the cause of national construction and defence, while educating younger generations on the nation’s patriotic traditions.          

The event will feature many traditional rituals.

Gamuda Kite Festival will gather talented kite artisans from around the country to give impressive displays of hundreds of colourful kites. This promises to be one of the most exciting events held as part of activities for the national holidays this year. 

Visitors will also have the chance to watch a special model aircraft show to celebrate Liberation Day (April 30).

Da Nang International Fireworks Festival will last for two months, from April 30 to June 30, with fireworks displays by teams from Vietnam, Poland, France, the US, Italy, Hong Kong, Switzerland, and Portugal.

Spectators can watch the fireworks performances on a giant LED screen.

A folk cultural programme will be held from April 28-29 at the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology to serve up entertainment to people living in the capital during the Liberation Day (April 30) and May Day national holidays.
