Le Hong Phong, a local resident, said that this just simply showed the residential area’s love for Park who is now the coach of Vietnam’s national and U23 teams.

However, the signboard has been dismantled by local authorities.

The municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has a management board responsible for naming streets. When localities want to name or rename their streets, they need to submit their proposal to this board for consideration before sending it to the city people’s council which will make the final decision.

Under Park, the national team’s performances have dramatically improved, finishing as runners-up at the 2018 AFC U23 Championship, reaching the semi-final at the 2018 Asian Games and winning the AFF Cup last year, as well as a quarter-final berth in the AFC championship this year.

At present, Vietnam are undefeated in three 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
