UP Station, a newly-established bar-café on level 2 of Apocalypse in HCMC’s District 1, is where locals and expats can come to enjoy live music performances and learn how to dance in its diversified weekly programs.
People join a Latin night at UP Station in HCMC’s District 1.
The site is located in an old-style construction of the 1990s with main materials of bricks and wood and has a friendly and unique look. Once entering the door people may find it interesting to hear catchy tunes of Latin, Rock & Roll and DJ live music.
It puts on Latin night every Tuesday from 8 p.m. for people to come for learning and dancing to Latin music. There are professional trainers to instruct beginners dancing techniques of Salsa, Bachata and Rumba. After lessons, there is a live performance of a veteran Latin band to entertain audiences.
Young people can come to the site every Wednesday to enjoy DJ performances of some trendy music like hip hop, trap and EDM, and show their moves on the dance floor while those who love Rock&Roll should head to the site every Thursday to attend a live performance by the veteran Lava band. From 12 a.m. audiences will have an opportunity to hear some Rock&Roll remixes by DJs.
The venue was created in April 2015 by Unlimited Entertainment Company, a hub of young people who are active in doing events, graphic designs, communication, brand activation, show production and photo graphics. According to Dao Minh Vu, creative director of Unlimited Entertainment Company, they want to turn Up Station into a hub for people of all ages and nationalities to come relax and make friends and share passions for Latin, Rock & Roll and electronic music.
UP Station is at 2B Thi Sach Street in HCMC’s District 1. It is open from Tuesday to Thursday from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. Tickets are priced at VND99,000 per person, inclusive of a drink.
