VietNamNet Bridge – The Pacific Boychoir Academy from the U.S will perform for Vietnamese audiences in Hanoi, HCMC and Quang Nam’s Hoi An from July 12 to 16 as part of their Asia Tour 2014.

The events will take place under the guidance of music director Kevin Fox and accompanist Brandon Adams. Audiences will be entertained with famous pieces by worldwide well-known composers such as Laudate Pueri by Felix Mendelssohn, Ave Maria by Franz Schubert, Hail, Gladdening Light by Charles Wood, Gloria (from Heiligmesse) by Joseph Haydn, Cantique de Jean Racine by Gabriel Faure and Hallelujah Chorus by G.F Handel.
Also staged will be some contemporary pieces such as Here Comes the Sun by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, The Man Who Sold the World by David Bowie, Sweet Dreams by Annie Lennox, I Got Rhythm by George Gershwin, Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon and Garfunkel, Ol’ Time Religion/When the Saints Go Marching In arranged by Keith McKutchen and Everett McCorvey and All You Need is Love by John Lennon and Paul McCartney.
The concert will feature talents of guest SolArt Choir with pieces Raining for Acapella, ballet Den long and Vietnamese folk song Ga gay le te. The two choirs will also collaborate to perform two pieces, including Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon and Garfunkel and a Vietnamese folk song Bac Kim Thang.
The Pacific Boychoir Academy was founded in 1998 with six boys and on June 19 comprises over 170 boys and young men aged between 4 and 18 in seven choirs. The choir has become known for its rich sound, musicianship, phrasing, and talented soloists.
The concert will be held at the HCMC Conservatory of Music, 112 Nguyen Du Street in District 1 on July 12, at a sculpture garden in Hoi An Ancient Town on July 14 and at Cong Nhan Theater, 42 Trang Tien Street in Hanoi on July 16.
