American singer, actress, and songwriter Demi Lovato will be guest singer in a music event in HCM City next month, multimedia company YAN Group has said in a release.

Lovato has confirmed she will perform at YAN Beatfest 2015 on May 9 at Phu Tho Stadium in District 11.

The popular singer will be performing with 80 top established and emerging Vietnamese singers during 12 hours of non-stop music.

The festival, also to feature a series of culinary activities, games, and shopping, is expected to attract more than 50 thousand music fans.

YAN Beatfest debuted last year with Vietnamese performers and English singer Shayne Ward, drawing an audience of 50,000 who danced away to the music for 12 hours.

Demetria Devonne "Demi" Lovato, 23, made her debut as a child actress in US children's TV series Barney & Friend.

In 2008 she rose to prominence in the Disney Channel TV film Camp Rock and signed a recording contract with Hollywood Records.

She released her debut album, Don't Forget, which rose to second in the US Billboard 200 and was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America for sales of over 530,000 copies.

Lovato was a judge and mentor on the American version of the The X Factor reality show in 2012 and 2013.

She has won a number of accolades, including an MTV Video Music Award, 31 Teen Choice Award nominations (12 of which she won), five People's Choice Awards, two ALMA Awards and a Billboard Touring Award.
