US Foreign Affairs Congressional Staff Association (FACSA) representatives have told Vietnam Ambassador  Pham Quang Vinh that the US Congress would  continue to back the further development of bilateral relations for mutual benefit aiming to elevate the comprehensive partnership to a higher level.

On March 26, Vietnam Ambassador Pham Quang Vinh hosted a reception for more than FACSA members who are also advisors and key assistants to US senators.

In his speech, Vinh reviewed the outcome of bilateral cooperation over recent years, highlighting the year 2015 as a momentous event marking 20 years of diplomatic relations with a series of exchange visits at all levels and increased cooperation in various fields under the framework of the comprehensive partnership between the two countries.

The ambassador greatly valued the US Congress’ cooperation and its important role in promoting the Vietnam-US ties while affirming the Vietnam Embassy’s willingness to work closely with FACSA to enhance exchange and mutual understanding and deal with issues of shared concern.

FACSA Representatives said the US Congress will continue to play an active role in building many specific areas of cooperation spanning from politics-defence-security, economy, trade, science technology, humanitarian programmes and post-war recovery.

At the meeting, FACSA representatives praised the Vietnam Embassy for first launching joint activities with the FACSA to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the two nations’ diplomatic ties.
