VietNamNet Bridge - The oceanographic research ship Roger Revelle with 28 officials and sailors on board docked at Tien Sa Port in Da nang on June 22. This is the first visit to Da nang by the ship.
The ship will stay in Da nang city for eight days, from June 22 to June 29. This is part of the oceanographic research program between the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam and the US Office of Naval Research.
The ship’s captain, Tom Desjardins said that six scientists from well-known universities in the US joined this trip, which aims to train Vietnamese oceanographic scientists in maritime research and management.
The "Roger Revelle" is a scientific research ship equipped with modern facilities operated by the Scripps Institution of Oceanography under the California University.
