U.S. superstar Mariah Carey and her husband Nick Cannon welcomed their first babies on Monday, which is also the couple’s fourth wedding anniversary, according to MTV.com.

The five-time Grammy-winner gave birth to a girl and boy at a Los Angeles hospital at 12:07 p.m. local time.

Cannon shared the exciting news on his Twitter page. "My wife just gave me the most incredible anniversary gift ever in life!" Cannon wrote. "I won't ever be able to top this!"

After welcoming twins into their lives, the new parents renewed their vows in the hospital.

"I'm not trying to be a psychic, but I think that, you know we get married every year, we renew our vows every year. I think we are going to renew our vows in the hospital, I can feel it... We got the minister coming in. So this gown will not be a wedding gown but a hospital gown," Cannon told media.

The arrival of the twins also cheered up friends of the couple. "It's all about pink and blue these days. It's truly going to be a dream come true for them. They get a son and daughter," an unnamed friend told Life & Style magazine. (Agencies)
