Upon addressing the function, Susan Burns, US Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, emphasised that the scheme will see co-operation among the US Department of Agriculture's Foreign Agricultural Service, the American Agricultural Association, and a number of food import companies in Vietnam.

It is part of a series of events being held to celebrate the 10th anniversary since the establishment of the Comprehensive Partnership between Vietnam and the US back in July 26, 2013.

The programme also aims to contribute to raising awareness regarding Vietnamese consumers’ demand for high-quality food and drink products from the US.

She went on to reveal that the US Mission to Vietnam and the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City are fully committed to working alongside partners in a bid to resolve important issues and promote fair bilateral trade for mutual benefits, adding that food and agriculture are an important part of this partnership

Last year saw US exports of agricultural products to the Vietnamese market continue to increase by nearly US$4 billion, thereby making the nation the US’ eighth largest export market

The promotional campaign will run from June 30 to July 13, with customers having the opportunity to receive vouchers, coupons, and sample American food and drink products.
