Both the goals came in the first half of the match, scored by Trinh Quang Vinh and Moses Oloya.

Binh Duong has 32 points, one more than the nearest rival Thanh Hoa who also won.

Host Thanh Hoa came from behind to beat Hoang Anh Gia Lai 2-1 in a match in which the visitors played much better but failed to convert their opportunities into goals.

It was the 10th match in a row that Hoang Anh Gia Lai failed to win this season. They now stare at a bleak future, having been relegated to the 13th position, just one point ahead of Dong Nai who are at the bottom with nine points.

In a match at the Vinh Stadium, hosts Song Lam Nghe An beat Dong Tam Long An 2-1.

Captain Nguyen Quang Tinh scored the opener for Song Lam Nghe An with a goal that was also the 300th goal of this year's tournament.

Dong Tam Long An levelled in the 67th instant, courtesy Nguyen Thanh Hai who displayed an outstanding performance, passing all Song Lam Nghe An's defenders from behind.

National Ngo Hoang Thinh made it 2-1 just 10 minutes later with a 25m shot that went through the net without giving the visitors any chance to even react.

A loss of 0-3 to Can Tho forced coach Dinh Cao Nghia to send in his resignation letter to Quang Ninh Coal's management.

Oseni Ganiyu Bolayi grabbed a double after Le Van Thang scored an opening goal 22 minutes into the game.

Nghia said he suffered a lot of pressure as Quang Ninh were out of the top three teams and did not post good results recently.

Quang Ninh have not yet made a final decision but agreed to let Nghia rest for the upcoming matches.

Quang Ninh are at No 6 with 24 points after 15 matches.

In other activities, Quang Nam tied with former champions Ha Noi T&T 2-2; Hai Phong beat Sanna Khanh Hoa 1-0 to jump to third place; and Dong Thap dumped Dong Nai 4-0.
