VietNamNet Bridge - The annual meeting of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) on November 4, officially decided to establish a share-holding company to manage the V-League and First Division, the two top leagues in Vietnam.

The company, named V-League JSC, has 25 shareholders including 24 clubs from the two leagues and the VFF. Share capital contributed by share holders will be decided after the company is set up.

The VFF is waiting for the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s arrival before it sends the company’s regulations to all 28 member clubs.

The V-League JSC is scheduled to be set up in two weeks before its first shareholders’ meeting is held on November 26. The firm will be operated under the Enterprise Law.

The firm will take full responsibilities in managing competition under the leagues including marketing, TV rights, match attendance, refereeing, and other organization tasks.

The most outstanding candidate for the company’s Chairmanship is VFF Vice Chair Le Hung Dung.

The meeting also approved Duong Vu Lam as the chief of the referee board for the upcoming football season.

Notably, the V-League television broadcast right, which was sold to AVG Group for 20 years by the VFF, will be maintained after the V-League JSC is established.

The VFF has been blaming for poor management of V-League that has resulted in steady decline in match attendance and increase in violence and corrupt refereeing.
