VietNamNet Bridge - The International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) has announced the ranking the world's top leagues in 2012. Accordingly, La Liga took the lead, while Vietnam's V-League ranked 87th in the world and third in Southeast Asia.




Based on the achievements of football clubs in the domestic and in the international arenas, the IFFHS conducted ranking football tournaments in the world in 2012. The La Liga of Spain took the lead with 1,283 points.
 
This is not considered a surprise because in the past years, Spanish FCs played successfully. In the Champions League 2012, the four representatives of Spain (Real Madrid, Barcelona, Malaga, Valencia) reached the knock-out round.

Earlier, Atletico Madrid was crowned at the Europa League (after passing another representative of La Liga - Athletic Bilbao). The dominance of this tournament is also expressed through the election of the FIFA typical team, with the 11 names from the La Liga.

There is a surprise that the Premier League of Britain dropped to the fifth position. It is a result of the failure of British FCs in the international arena (especially the Champions League). This season saw two British FCs being ousted from the qualifier round - Chelsea and Man City.

According to the IFFHS, the Brazilian League ranked second in the world with 1,057 points (thanks to the championship of the Corinthians in the Copa Libertadores and the World FC Championship). Bundesliga ranked 3rd and the Series A came fourth.

Meanwhile, the V-League ranked 87th in the world and 3rd in Southeast Asia after Thailand (49th) and Malaysia (74th).
