VietNamNet Bridge – Many antiques excavated from the Thang Long royal citadel in Hanoi will be displayed for the first time at the sixth Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day at 2 Hoa Lu, Hanoi from November 20-24.

 

 

The event is a follow up on Hanoi’s 1000th anniversary, under the theme of“The Imprints of Thang Long – Hanoi”. Many activities will be held at the Vietnam Culture and Art Centre, 2 Hoa Lu, from 8:00 am through 9:00 pm.

 

The main attraction will be a 200sq.m area displaying items excavated at the Thang Long Royal Citadel, which was recently recognized as the World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.

 

The UNESCO Centre for Preservation and Research of Thang Long Antiques will introduce a collection of 500 antiques of the Dong Son civilisation, Dinh – Le – Ly – Tran dynasties, Le Dynasty and Nguyen Dynasty.

 

Among the exhibits that will be put on display this time are Books about Thang Long – Hanoi, 200 old documents, 30 old photos and paintings of the old Hanoi, 80 old photos of the Temple of Literature, 20 old maps of Thang Long in the Le dynasty and Nguyen dynasty

 

Visitors will have a chance to to play folk games and enjoy Hanoi’s culinary specialties and traditional songs and dances. .
