The 2026 season of the Vietnam Basketball Association marks the league’s 11th edition, opening a new phase of development under the message “Where talent rises to legend”.

The season is set to tip off in May, continuing with the familiar home-and-away 5x5 format. Six teams will compete, including defending champions Hanoi Buffaloes, runners-up Nha Trang Dolphins, along with Danang Dragons, Ho Chi Minh City Wings, Saigon Heat and Cantho Catfish.

The upcoming season is expected to once again ignite vibrant basketball atmospheres across multiple cities, further spreading the spirit of high-level competition to fans nationwide.

In a move to bring the sport closer to younger audiences, the VBA has announced a comprehensive strategic partnership with FPT Play. The platform will take on the role of producing and broadcasting all VBA games for five consecutive seasons, from 2026 to 2030.

This makes the VBA the next major sporting property to receive long-term coverage on FPT Play, following its acquisition of English Premier League broadcasting rights from January 1, 2026 through the end of the 2030/31 season.

With strengthened media presence and a clear vision for growth, the VBA’s 11th season is poised to mark a significant step forward for professional basketball in Vietnam.
