VietNamNet Bridge – Motor vehicle manufacturers and importers will have to pay an emissions testing fee for each new vehicle from February 15.

Under the circular, vehicles will be tested following European emission standards, which define the acceptable limits for exhaust emissions from new vehicles.
The fee for motorbikes ranges from VND700,000 ($34) to VND23.5 million ($1,120) while the highest fee for cars of less than 3,500 kilogram is VND44.7 million ($2,130).
The fee for cars of more than 3,500 kilogram is from VND3.3 million ($157) to VND110.2 million ($5,250).
The fee will be paid to the Viet Nam Register. The National Motor Vehicle Emission Test Centre will be in charge of carrying out the test.
