VietNamNet Bridge - Deputy General Director of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training Pham Van Tuan has been elected as the Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).




In the morning of October 7, the VFF Annual General Meeting 2012 opened in Ho Chi Minh City.

The congress was attended by representatives of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training, representatives of the Department for Non-governmental Organizations of the Ministry of Home Affairs, representatives of member organizations, and VFF officials.

The congress agreed raising the number of members of the VFF Executive Committee to 24 people and the number of VFF Vice Chairs to four.

Mr. Pham Van Tuan, Deputy General Director of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training, was elected to the VFF Executive Committee and the VFF Vice President of the new term.

VFF Chairman Nguyen Trong Hy said, the election of a new vice president is necessary because Vice President Pham Ngoc Vien has been appointed as the General Director of the Vietnam Professional Football JSC (VPF).

Pham Van Tuan, 52, came from a football player, who experienced many key positions as former director of the Gia Lai Province Department of Sports and is currently the Deputy Director of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training.

"With experience in football, Mr. Tuan is appropriate for the VFF Deputy Chair in charge of professional issues", Mr. Hy said.

Hy also said that as the An Giang Province Football Association was dissolved so the Congress agreed to suspend An Giang Football Federation’s membership.

The congress also conducted the admission of a new member – the VPF.
