VietNamNet Bridge  - The Vietnam Football Federation’s (VFF) Chairman Nguyen Trong Hy has said that VFF would extend the contract signed with the Chinese coach of the women's soccer team Chen Yun Fat.

The Chinese coach’s contract is about to expire at the end of this month. Recently, the VFF has consulted and was approved by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the General Department of Physical Training and Sports to extend the contract with the coach.

According to Hy, the new contract period will be one year. The Chinese coach will lead the women's team to attend the 27th SEA Games.

VFF is considering salary adjustment for Mr. Chen Yun Fat. Chen’s current salary is $3,000 per month.

"Coach Chen Yun Fat will return to China to rest and visit his family. When he returns to Vietnam, we will proceed with the contract extension. The General Department of Physical Training and Sports has approved the extension of the contract with Chen a long time ago," Chairman Nguyen Trong Hy said.

Over many years with the women's soccer team, coach Chen Yun Fat has led the team to many achievements in the regional area.

At the 2012 Southeast Asian women's football champs, held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam won the championship after defeating Myanmar in the final.

According to the latest information, the cards for Asian teams to the Women’s World Cup finals in 2015 will be increased to 5. Meanwhile, the North Korean team was banned by FIFA because its player being detected of using dope so an opportunity has opened up to Vietnam.

In Asia, Japan, South Korea, North Korea, China and Australia are the countries that have thriving women's football. Vietnam, Myanmar and Thailand are ranked behind.

After the Southeast Asian women's football champs, coach Chen Yun Fat expressed his desire to continue working in Vietnam.

According to him, after many years working in Vietnam, he now regards Vietnam as his second home.

VFF chairman Nguyen Trong Hy said that Chen has good professional capacity, which is proved through the achievements of the women's team.

Over the years as the team’s head coach, Chen is well aware of the situation of Vietnamese women's football as well as regional competitors.

Coach Chen is also considered to be very skilled in the training, and who is highly respected by players.
