VietNamNet Bridge – It is almost certainly that the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) will have another vice president, who will be elected at the next annual general meeting.

Chairman Nguyen Trong Hy will have another assistant to manage
Vietnamese football.

This information has been revealed by a senior official of the VFF. According to him, the appointment of a new vice president is to match the current situation of Vietnamese football, when the workload is huge.

Facing the fluctuations of world football and Vietnam’s football in recent time, the VFF wanted to enhance the performance of its management machine. The federation currently has three deputy chairs: Mr. Le Hung Dung (in charge of finance and funding), Mr. Pham Ngoc Vien (expertise) and Mr. Nguyen Lan Trung (PR).

However, Mr. Vien almost has to work at two places because he is also the CEO of the Vietnam Professional Football JSC.

VFF Chairman Nguyen Trong Hy admitted that since Vien assumed the position at VPF, VFF has been overloaded and this organization has long wanted a vice president in charge.

The VFF's proposal to appoint a vice president to reduce the workload burden was approved by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as well as the General Department of Sports and Physical Training.

VFF and the General Department of Sports and Physical Training are amending relevant provisions of the VFF Charter, and asking for the Ministry of Home Affair’s approval.

The question is who will be selected as the new vice president of the VFF. Some sources say it is more likely that the General Department of Sports and Physical Training will assign someone to work at the VFF. In accordance with the roadmap, this person will replace Hy as VFF Chair next year. Certainly, the VFF has completely denied this information.

It is also said that at the next annual general meeting, VFF Chairman Nguyen Trong Hy will resign, one year early. However, the chairman’s resignation at the annual general meeting is unprecedented.

The General Department of Sports and Physical Training has encouraged Hy to finish his term. Hy also denied his early resignation because Vietnamese football is at a difficult stage, if there are many disturbances, the situation would be more tense.
