VietNamNet Bridge – Chairman of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Nguyen Trong Hy believes that the federation will have a new Secretary General within one month, to replace Tran Quoc Tuan.
Hy said VFF is urgently seeking suitable candidates for the post. The criteria for the new Secretary General include: having good knowledge of Vietnam’s football, being good at home and foreign affairs, being able to work under pressure, etc.

VFF Chair said that the position is open for candidates who are not members of the federation. “Anyone who meets these criteria can become VFF Secretary General,” Hy stated.

The new method of recruitment may make big surprise.

Hy confirmed that VFF would not ask for the General Department of Sports and Physical Training’s assistance. “We will directly choose and appoint the new Secretary General,” he added.

The general department’s chief Vuong Bich Thang also said that it is the job of VFF and the department would not assist the federation in personnel task.

After resignation, the current General Secretary Tran Quoc Tuan will work at the General Department of Sports and Physical Training as of January 1, 2012.

While waiting for the new General Secretary, VFF’s vice chairs will deal with tasks left by Tuan.
