VietNamNet Bridge - Three friendly matches against Indonesia, Singapore and India can not be held as planned.

Friendly matches ahead of the AFF Cup are useful for Vietnam.

On October 2 the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) informed the Indian Football Association it will not accept the invitation to play a friendly game with the Indian team on October 19.

A member of the VFF said, this decision was made because the Indian side had put VFF in difficulties.

They had asked Vietnam to have the answer in one day. They also requested to place advertising billboards in the My Dinh Stadium, where the friendly match takes place.

This request is beyond the powers of the VFF so with only a day, VFF can not give an answer. With no other way, VFF forced to deny India’s invitation.

Earlier, the Indian Football Association had sent invitation for a friendly game against Vietnam. VFF and coach Phan Thanh Hung of the national team agreed because India is considered a good team of the continent. From now until the AFF Cup, the Vietnamese national team will not have many friendly games, so a friendly match against India will be good for the team.

"Quite a pity, but without the friendly game against India, the team's plan is not affected much," said General Secretary of VFF Ngo Le Bang.

After Indonesia unexpectedly declared to cancel the friendly game against the Vietnamese team on September 22, which caused losses to VFF, Singapore wanted to indefinitely postpone the friendly match scheduled on October 16. Now it turns to India, but this time VFF refused for quite rare reasons.

Under the plan, the Vietnamese team, after the 10-day drilling in Nha Trang will return to Hanoi on October 14, to prepare for the friendly match against Indonesia on October 16.

After that they will go to Ho Chi Minh City to attend the HCM City Cup, before playing against Malaysia and hit the road for the AFF Cup.
