Rated as the stronger side, Vietnam took the initiative and played an attacking game. Just four minutes into the match, coach Mai Duc Chung’s team opened the scoring when Tuyet Dung’s cross unintentionally turned into a shot with an unpredictable trajectory. The Uzbekistan goalkeeper misjudged the ball's path, leading to an early goal for Vietnam.

In the 6th minute, Hai Yen dribbled down the left side into Uzbekistan's penalty area but missed her shot wide of the post. At the 20th minute, after a coordinated play in the midfield, Bich Thuy's shot was saved by the Uzbekistan goalkeeper. Vietnam doubled their lead in the 35th minute. From a pass on the right by Bich Thuy, Hai Yen’s shot beat the Uzbekistan goalkeeper.

Three minutes later, Vietnam almost made it 3-0. Van Su broke Uzbekistan’s offside trap, but her shot narrowly missed the post. The remainder of the match saw substitutions from both teams, but no further goals were scored.

Assessing the match, coach Mai Duc Chung commented: "We identified Uzbekistan as a competitive opponent for Vietnam within the Asian region, so the team focused on playing to win. I regret that the team had only 10 days to prepare, which affected the fluidity of our play. With a longer preparation period, I believe we could have scored up to four goals against Uzbekistan."

In the final match of the tournament, Vietnam will face host China at 6:35 p.m. on October 29.
