The university, based in the UK, was formed by several record books organisations around the world.
It offers an honorary doctorate to record holders who have achieved excellence in a particular field by identifying and inventing a unique strategy and method to reach that goal.
The records can be related to history, society, economics, sustainable development, creation, arts, culture, humanity, and education.
The Viet Nam office will receive applications from individuals who have created a world or national record, and submit them to the university.
A panel of experts from the university will examine the originality of an application to confer the degree. The achievement if recognised will be published in World Records University's annual publication.
Le Tran Truong An, Vietbooks' general director, said he hoped the co-operation would help promote the achievements of Vietnamese in all fields.
At a conference held on Thurday, Aug 22, Vietbooks announced 50 new records related to arts, photography, theatre, films, literature, music, publishing, and intellectual property.
All the records were created by individuals.
