VietNamNet Bridge – Viet Nam will supply 100 per cent of end-product methadone, a medicine used for drug addiction and HIV treatment to meet demand of more than 15,000 patients in 11 provinces and cities by 2012, according to the Ministry of Health. Half of the medicine's amount will be domestically made.

It is expected that the ministry will finish its selection of qualified manufacturers and begin the production of methadone within the second quarter.
