VietNamNet Bridge - Vietjet, the country’s only private air carrier, has been voted as one of the 10 best budget airlines in Asia in the 10th SmartTravelAsia.com 2014 Best in Travel Poll.

Vietnamese Vietjet Air, together with AirAsia, Cebu Pacific and Tiger Airways, were among the top names.

Smart Travel Asia is the region’s most dedicated online travel magazine with over one million readers worldwide.

Its 10th poll was carried out from May to July 2014. The voters were knowledgeable travelers with substantial hands-on travel experience. Only travelers who had taken at least 12 flights a year were eligible to vote.

Vietjet, which launched its first commercial flight in 2011, has become well known in Vietnam and the world as a modern and dynamic airline. It provides over 110 flights a day on most domestic routes and international routes to South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan and Cambodia.

In September 2014, the airline appeared as one of 2014’s top 10 most famous brands in Vietnam listed by the International Intellectual Property Institute and Vietnam Science and Entrepreneurs’ Union.

Smart Travel Asia is an incredible resource for global travelers with an abundance of information on tourism experiences, air services, hotels, resorts, and tourist sites.

As many as 86 percent of Smart Travel Asia’s readers say the website is an important source of information they refer to when planning their trips.

Managing Director of Vietjet Luu Duc Khanh said Vietjet’s staff was excited about the news because the great efforts by the air carrier had been recognized by travelers.

Vietjet has ordered three new Airbuses to implement part of its plan to expand its network in Vietnam and the region.
