VietNamNet Bridge – After three years of operation, Vietjet welcomed its ten millionth passenger at Vinh Airport in Nghe An province on Saturday, the same day the airport unveiled its upgraded terminal.

The lucky passenger was Ms. Kang Jeong Hee, a Korean businesswoman who flew on flight VJ270 from Ho Chi Minh City to Vinh City. She will enjoy complimentary flights with Vietjet for an entire year.

The lucky passenger was congratulated by officials of VietJet, the Ministry of Transport, the Airports Corporation of Vietnam, and Nghe An province.

To celebrate this landmark, VietJet is running a daily promotion on all domestic and international routes.

VieJet has also opened sales on two new routes: Hanoi – Quy Nhon and Ho Chi Minh City – Dong Hoi in January 2015. Customers have access to incredible fares for these routes with online bookings.

Speaking at the event, Vietjet Business Development Director, Mr. Desmond Lin, said: “Vinh International Airport boasts excellent facilities and an attractive, modern design that will facilitate growing transportation demands for Nghe An Province and contribute to the economic development of the whole north central region.

“In the future Vietjet is committed to adding routes and boosting the flight frequency of existing flights to Vinh City to meet increasing travel demand. Our HCM City-Vinh connection has already facilitated tourism and trade growth between both destinations. Meanwhile, we are delighted to have flown 10 million passengers and look forward to flying millions more in coming years.”

With a fleet of 20 Airbus A320 aircraft, Vietjet now operates 150 flights per day, transporting 10 million passengers on approximately 60,000 flights in just over three years.

The airline now operates 28 local and international routes across the country and the region. The airline flies from Vietnam to Singapore, Thailand, South Korea, Taiwan, and Cambodia.

The airline is also actively planning to expand its international flight network across the Asia Pacific region and beyond.

Vietjet now opens sales on the new two routes:

The flight between Hanoi and Quy Nhon will commence operations on April 26, 2015. The flight duration per section is one hour and 35 minutes. A flight will take off from Hanoi at 10.25am and arrive in Quy Nhon at 12 noon. For the return leg, the flight will depart from Quy Nhon at 12.25pm and land in Hanoi at 2.10pm.

The flight connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Hoi will commence operations on April 29, 2015. The flight duration is one hour and 35 minutes per section. A flight will depart Ho Chi Minh City at 10.40am and land in Dong Hoi at 12.15pm. Coming in the opposite direction, a flight will take off at 12.50pm in Dong Hoi and arrive in Ho Chi Minh City at 2.25pm.
