VietNamNet Bridge – Da Nang International Airport on December 30 welcomed its five millionth passenger, who arrived on VietJet flight VJ511 from Hanoi.

VietJet took the opportunity to present the lucky passenger, Tran Minh Thinh, Manager of the Steel Pipe 150 Company, with free flights for the whole year as well as a round-trip ticket to Singapore to two other passengers following Thinh, Mr. Yasuda Takenori, a tourist from Japan, and Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Ly, an employee of Fubon Vietnam.

Officials from the Ministry of Transport, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, and the Da Nang City People’s Committee attended a welcome ceremony to celebrate the arrival of Da Nang International Airport’s five millionth passenger.

The airport, which opened on December 25, 2011, is the third-largest airport in Vietnam. In 2014 the airport saw an increase of 16% in passengers while the number of international passengers reached 900,000 people, a 53% increase compared to 2013.

Having reached the impressive total of five million passengers in three years, Da Nang International Airport plans to expand its infrastructure to boost the capacity to 10 million passengers per year.

The lucky passenger, Mr. Tran Minh Thinh, said: “I am really surprised and delighted to be the five millionth passenger. VietJet flight gave me this great luck!
