where China plans to hold military exercises.

Along with this, it has also changed some flight paths between the country and the United States to ensure aviation security and safety during in-flight operations.

Moving forward, Vietnam Airlines will temporarily maintain the adjusted air routes until August 7, with roughly 36 flights being affected.

A representative of Vietnam Airlines revealed that these adjustments might prolong the flight time, hoping that the airline will receive passengers' sympathy due to the unexpected reason.

Vietnam Airlines also recommends that passengers traveling to and from Northeast Asia and the US during this period regularly monitor and stay updated on information on the carrier’s fan page, website, or contact Customer Care Center 19001100 for further details.

This comes after Dinh Viet Thang, director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV), said on August 3 that following China announcing military drills in some areas near Taiwan (China) from noon on August 4 through to August 7, the CAAV has held a meeting with airlines to carry out detour plans to ensure safety.

He pointed that Chinese exercises near the Taiwan Strait will affect flights operated by the carrier from the nation to the US, Taiwan (China), Japan, and the Republic of Korea.
