VietNamNet Bridge - Vietnam Airlines is negotiating with Go Go (USA) and OnAir (Europe) to supply Internet services on its flights.

"These are the two professional suppliers of Internet services on the plane. They have connecting devices from the ground to the aircraft, from the planes to the passengers. Therefore, they will be the key units to provide this service," said a representative of Vietnam Airlines.

To serve passengers on flights of Vietnam Airlines, these suppliers must have permits from authorities of Vietnam, said the representative.

To ensure flight safety, passengers are allowed to turn on their electronic devices at an altitude of 3,000 m.

Many airlines in the world have offered wifi Internet services onboard. In Southeast Asia, in addition to Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways and Malaysia Airlines have the service.

It is reported that Vietnam Airlines will initially supply ony SMS services on board.
